Eating

Our Charities

For every Foodinate meal sold at a participating venue, a hot nourishing meal is provided for a person in need in the same community. We achieve this through our network of grassroots community organisations, operating on the frontline in deprived areas across the UK. These charities serve the meals generated by Foodinate, and ensure our impact is always local to each community.

What starts with food, doesn't end with food...

Food is a powerful tool for opening the door...

The centres we work with collectively provide everything from addiction therapy, benefits advice, CV workshops, housing assistance, arts classes, music classes... the list really is endless!

45%

of those who enter a centre to receive a Foodinate meal also take part in activities which boost health, confidence and skills (both practical and social)

25%

of those who start by entering to receive a meal go on to gain work placements, employment, or gain a nationally recognised qualification

Always hot, always nutritious

The donated meals generated by Foodinate vary by location and charity, but they are always hot and they are always nourishing. Here's an example menu at one of our charity partners, Mustard Tree. Yum!

Opportunities

Foodinate also provides its beneficiaries with opportunities to volunteer in kitchens, both within the charities we work with, and the businesses we partner with. Here is a group of beneficiaries spending the morning learning new skills with the amazing Head Chef at George's, Worsley.

"We cannot thank Foodinate and its London partners enough for this. Last year we served over 23,000 meals to people in need in London. We have a huge job on our hands so this is hugely needed and appreciated, and the fact the donations are regular makes it even more important as we can plan ahead and try to make sure we are prepared for the unfortunate growing need for our services."

- Cecilia Seres, Project Manager at The Upper Room

"Foodinate and it's Manchester partners allow us to not rely on waste food, food that’s just about to go out of date, or food that might be damaged. It also allows our beneficiaries to volunteer in our kitchens, to have the opportunity to come up with their own recipe ideas with me, learn new skills in cooking, in budgeting, and to get involved in making positive decisions which is a hugely powerful tool for recovery.”

- Shaun Carmody, Head Chef at Mustard Tree

“Food provision is so important as it provides one of life’s basic needs as well as being an effective way to bring about long-term positive change. A huge thank you to the Foodinate partners in Nottingham for helping us drive change in our community.”

– Sam Crawford, Chief Executive at The Friary
